Why "Indigo"?
The inspiration for the name "Indigo Theatre Company" comes from DC Comics' Indigo Lanterns, who derive their power from "compassion". As lifelong comic fans, our founders felt that "compassion" was the perfect core value of the company.
What does "inclusive casting" mean?
By casting roles without regard to "traditional casting limitations", we aim to produce theatre that breaks stereotypes and invites talented artists to work with us, many of whom may feel they have been overlooked by other companies for superficial reasons. While certain scripts may have specific requirements for an actor, and we would honor any requirements of an acquired production license, we try to select productions without limitations so that performers of all backgrounds can shine.
